How to use this glossary
These definitions explain how NIBBLEFY uses recurring digital strategy terms. They are educational, not legal advice, certification claims, or guarantees of search, accessibility, compliance, or business results.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Work that helps search engines crawl, understand, index, and present useful website content. SEO can improve discoverability, but it cannot guarantee a particular ranking.
- Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
- Structuring clear, direct, and well-supported information so answer systems can retrieve it and present it accurately.
- Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
- Improving the clarity, consistency, structure, and supporting evidence of digital content so generative systems can understand and represent an organization more accurately. GEO does not guarantee citation or inclusion in an AI-generated response.
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- International accessibility guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG provides testable success criteria for making web content more accessible.
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
- An Ontario law that establishes accessibility requirements in several areas. Applicable website obligations depend on the organization and circumstances; legal advice may be required to determine specific duties.
- Accessibility audit
- A documented evaluation of digital content and interactions against an agreed accessibility standard and scope. An audit identifies observed barriers and does not, by itself, certify full compliance.
- Technical SEO
- Review and improvement of technical conditions that affect crawling, indexing, rendering, performance, security, and site structure.
- Structured data
- Machine-readable information added to a page to describe entities and relationships explicitly. Correct structured data helps interpretation but does not guarantee a search feature or enhanced result.
- Schema.org
- A shared vocabulary for describing entities such as organizations, websites, pages, services, and people in structured data.
- Core Web Vitals
- Google metrics that assess aspects of real-world loading performance, responsiveness, and visual stability. Results can vary by device, network, page, and measurement method.
- Automation
- The use of defined rules, integrations, or software to perform repeatable tasks with reduced manual effort. Appropriate monitoring and human review depend on the risk and workflow.
- AI integration
- Connecting an artificial intelligence capability to an existing website, application, data source, or workflow for a defined business use case. The design should account for data quality, privacy, security, limitations, and human oversight.
